As a fully licensed psychotherapist and trauma specialist in Georgia, she brings over twenty-two years of experience to her clinical practice. Her professional background is extensive, having served as a Certified Professional Counseling Supervisor and a clinical director and trainer for crisis and suicide access lines. She has also contributed her expertise as a crisis intervention contractor for FEMA during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Throughout her career, Yolanda has provided discrete and specialized care to a diverse range of clients, including professional athletes in the NBA and NFL as well as high-profile celebrities. Her clinical skills in trauma response were utilized following major national events, including the nightclub shooting in Orlando, the church shooting in Sutherland Springs, and the shooting in Las Vegas. She specializes in helping clients navigate the complexities of trauma and abuse, depression, family conflicts, stress, and anxiety. Her practice serves a broad range of populations, including young adults, adults, and seniors. A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Yolanda holds a deep academic background. She earned a degree in Fine Arts from New Mexico State University, a Bachelor of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of New Orleans, and a Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Holy Cross. Additionally, she holds a Master of Divinity from Payne Theological Seminary and is currently a doctoral student specializing in Trauma Psychology. Outside of her clinical role, she is a Minister in the Baptist faith and remains active in outreach, prison ministry, and serving as a behavioral health liaison and Sunday School teacher. Yolanda’s personal life is rooted in family and community; she is married and the mother of four biological children, a stepchild, and two adoptive children. Her personal interests include community ministry, cooking, reading, music, art, traveling, and painting.
