Valerie Murphy
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
You are invited to join me in a relaxed environment as I guide you through the stressors that are present in your life. My main modality is EMDR Therapy.
I've been practicing since 2010 in a variety of settings, including outpatient, IOP, PHP and residential settings. I believe the people I work with are the experts of themselves. My role is to assist and guide them to experience life in a way that they no longer feel stuck due to past or current stressors, events and traumas. I bring a strength-based, client-centered approach to EMDR Therapy. EMDR is an evidence-based, structured therapy that can help heal the brain using it's own natural healing process. I look forward to meeting you in my relaxed and judgment-free office, where I can learn more about you and we can work together to accomplish your goals. Valerie Murphy is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Ohio, offering individual therapy for adults and young adults in Akron, OH. She specializes in trauma therapy for adults, addressing issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Valerie is an LGBTQ ally and provides out-of-network insurance and out-of-pocket payment options.
