Sydnie Spearman

Sydnie Spearman is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland who has been in clinical practice since 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Sociology, and Criminal Justice from Northern Michigan University, as well as a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Sydnie works with a broad range of populations, specifically serving young adults and adults between the ages of 18 and 64. Her clinical practice is centered on treating behavioral health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and co-occurring disorders, while also providing support for life-stage concerns. Operating from a treatment philosophy that the therapeutic space is most effective when the client is the narrator of their own story, Sydnie employs a variety of evidence-based modalities. Her approach incorporates techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She is also experienced in providing family therapy and mindfulness-based interventions. Sydnie is equipped to handle complex cases, including those involving court-ordered treatment, current legal matters, disability paperwork, parental custody issues, workers' compensation, and individuals recently discharged from psychiatric hospitals. Outside of her professional work, she stays active through strength training, kickboxing, hiking, and playing tennis, and she also enjoys watching movies, reading, learning the ukulele, and spending time with friends and family.
