I am a Harvard-educated Clinical Psychologist who specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and other self-harming behaviors.

I am a Harvard-educated Clinical Psychologist who spent the first ten years of my career on the Psychology Department faculty of Howard University, where I helped start the university’s Women’s Studies Program and, after publishing extensively on eating disorders, help-seeking behavior, and racial identity, received tenure and promotion to Associate Professor. Now, having been in private practice for more than 20 years, I offer in-person individual and family therapy as well as virtual therapy to individuals and families in 42 states. I was the president of the Washington Society for the Study of Eating Disorders and Obesity for ten years and am a listed clinician on the National Football League Clinician Directory and the Olympic and Paralympic Mental Health Directory. I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and eating disorders. I have particular expertise in addressing the mental health needs of athletes in competitive sports who experience the stress of intense competition and the pressures of elite level sports involvement. I enjoy helping people to manage stress and prioritize their emotional well-being.
