“I have a passion for mental health awareness & strive to normalize the conversation around mental health, & end the stigma associated with mental health.
I earned my Bachelor of Social work from Wichita State University & my Master of Social Work from Indiana Wesleyan University. For more than 10 years I've worked with individuals from various backgrounds & in various settings including schools, long term care, acute inpatient geriatric psychiatric care, middle aged adults, & adolescents. I've received training in Trauma Informed Care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, & Motivational Interviewing. I am the founder of The A.R.T. Project, LLC which is geared towards suicide prevention & mental health awareness with the use of self-created art & therapy. I focus on utilizing a strength-based approach to empower & encourage the clients I serve to work through identified barriers in a safe space, to reach their desired goals, & to arrive at their point of change.
