Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Virtual therapy for anxiety, depression, college students, and Asian adoptees. Licensed in NY, DC, VA, PA, FL.
I'm Sarah, a licensed counselor (LPC, LMHC-D) offering online therapy for adults and college students experiencing anxiety and depression. I specialize in working with Asian adoptees. You may be navigating college, adjusting to changes in work or relationships, or noticing that anxiety or depression is affecting your sleep, motivation, or connection with others. You may know what you want to work on, or you may need help making sense of what has been difficult. We begin by understanding what brings you to therapy and what you would like to be different. For Asian adoptees, therapy can offer space to explore identity, belonging, family relationships, and loss, including how these experiences show up in everyday life. Some clients want to talk about adoption directly. Others seek support for anxiety, depression, or relationship concerns and find that adoption is part of the picture. You decide how much we explore and when. We will work together to understand patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and relationships and identify ways to respond to the concerns that brought you to therapy. Your perspective matters throughout our work, including whether what we are doing feels helpful and what needs to change. Outside my practice, I teach graduate counseling courses and supervise counselors in training. My background also includes advanced training in addiction and crisis counseling. I offer telehealth sessions for clients located in Washington, DC, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, and Florida. If you have questions about working together, please reach out.
