Sarah Gutierrez
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
I am an experienced trauma therapist/social worker who believes in every person's capacity to heal, grow and foster deep transformation in their lives.
Practicing from relational and body-centered frameworks, I am passionate about providing conscious and compassionate care to people across a spectrum of identity and experience. I am trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which is a somatic approach to trauma processing, integration, and healing. Body-centered therapies offer us unique opportunities to create an embracing and supportive context to safely connect with your embodied experience, stabilize and reorient your nervous system, and develop a more whole relationship with your body on your terms. I have specialized training in treating individuals with complex trauma histories, chronic stress (including caregiver stress) and dissociative disorders. I engage in regular trainings and consultation in this field in order to ensure my clients are receiving the best care possible. As the foundation of our work together, we will explore your experience through relational and psychodynamic lenses, where we use the therapeutic relationship itself to deepen insight into your own relational styles and facilitate the experiencing and expression of emotions and intuitions that have been blocked, diminished, or denied.
