I enjoy supporting college students during a time in life when it can be tough to create and feel confident in an independent identity.

My approach is client-centered, and strengths based. Even though you may be struggling with some challenges, you have still somehow made it to today and are considering options for what can support you in a healthier, more balanced life. That is the perfect place to start from in therapy. I take your lead, based on what you would like to work on and perhaps experiences you feel you need to process in order to move forward. My experiences in Emergency Services, school settings, and now in an out-patient setting have shown me that most of us are still healing from something that has occurred in our childhoods and often our symptoms are a result. I use client centered and supportive talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, sand tray and play-based therapy, and solution focused techniques to assist in helping clients manage symptoms and move towards the balance they need to improve daily functioning. I believe you already have what you need, and my job is to help you recognize it and begin to use it! I consider it a great privilege to support college students especially during a time in life when society tells you you are supposed to have it figured out. I have a spoiler alert...none of us have it figured out. And yet, life can still be fulfilling and joyful.
