S Denise Farris

Meeting clients exactly where they are, Denise Farris, LCSW, provides compassionate, trauma-informed care to individuals throughout Colorado. She maintains a special clinical focus on supporting first responders, veterans, and active-duty service members, drawing on her own extensive background as a first responder to understand the unique challenges these populations encounter. Her therapeutic style is characterized by honesty and direct feedback, delivered within a caring and supportive framework that often incorporates humor to facilitate the healing process. Denise is particularly passionate about assisting those navigating PTSD and trauma, as well as individuals managing medical conditions and major life transitions. She utilizes evidence-based modalities to help patients address a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, bipolar disorder, and sleep disorders. Her expertise includes the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and specialized protocols such as the IFS + EMDR protocol and the ASSYST protocol. Outside of her clinical practice, Denise enjoys reading, playing video games, crocheting, and spending time with her family.
