RUBEN TRUE-ROMERO

Ruben True-Romero is a Professional Counselor Associate who has been practicing in community based mental health and other outpatient settings since 2014. Ruben has a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton. Ruben passionately believes in offering supportive and inclusive spaces for everyone needing mental health care. He provides specialized therapy for adults and teens who are feeling weighed down with depression, anxiety, traumatic stress reactions, addictions, identity issues, life transitions, and grief/healing process. He grounds his work in affective neuroscience, emotion theory, neurobiology of trauma, self-determination theory, and attachment theory. Ruben is humanistic-experiential in his therapeutic approach, and he adapts his intervention methods to each person's processing style to ensure that care is client centered. In his free time, Ruben is a musician/songwriter and also writes poetry. He immerses himself in nature at every opportunity to stay grounded in the wisdom that pervades all living organisms. He enjoys landscape photography and adventuring in the Pacific Northwest with his wife and Beagle, Bernie.
