Rima Salem

Working with children, families, and individuals to achieve their goals for overall health and wellbeing, Rima Salem is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 15 years of clinical experience. Her professional path began as an elementary school teacher, an experience that fostered her commitment to helping students and their families navigate the life stressors that can hinder education. This background in the classroom deeply influenced her transition into the mental health field, where she now serves the community in Pasadena, California. Rima holds a Master of Science degree from California State University, Fullerton, and has built an extensive career as a therapist, clinical supervisor, and executive director for community mental health programs. Her clinical background includes supporting those facing trauma exposure, depression, anxiety, grief, loss, and ADHD. Additionally, she provides specialized support for parenting, couples, family therapy, and a wide array of other life challenges. Having spent over a decade as a clinical supervisor, she has also dedicated significant time to mentoring new therapists in their clinical development. Compassion is at the heart of Rima’s approach, as she believes no one should have to face their struggles alone. While she is trained in various theoretical frameworks and evidence-based practices—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), family therapy, and mindfulness—she maintains that the therapeutic relationship itself is the most essential element of a healing treatment model. Rima serves a broad range of populations, including preteens, teens, young adults, adults, and seniors, ensuring that each client feels supported in their journey toward improved wellbeing.
