Peter Litwin

Connecting with individuals on a personal level while providing support, hope, and clinical education defines the care approach of Dr. Peter Litwin. As an adult psychiatrist in New Jersey who has been in practice since 1995, he emphasizes a treatment style that is both accountable and reliable. Dr. Litwin specializes in evidence-based medicine, focusing on safety, tolerability, and effective results through medication management skills refined over three decades of clinical experience. He treats a wide range of adults, from young adults aged 18 to seniors over 65, and maintains a deep appreciation for the commitment his patients make to their own treatment. His educational background includes medical school at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and a residency in adult psychiatry at Albert Einstein. Outside of his clinical work, he is a dedicated writer who authored Psychiatry Made Simple: Dr. Pete’s Guide to Your Mental Health and is currently developing three additional books. Dr. Litwin is also active in his community, serving on his town’s environmental commission and finding relaxation through gardening. An advocate for the same recreational balance he encourages in his patients, he spends much of his summer on or in the water, whether he is sailing, kayaking, or swimming in the ocean.
