Obinna Okonkwo

Obinna Okonkwo is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Maryland who has been in practice since 2021. He holds an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Prince George’s Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland University College, and completed his Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner credentials at Walden University. Driven by a commitment to his community, Obinna focuses on providing early diagnosis and treatment for mental health disorders to help clients achieve symptom reduction and optimal daily functioning. To address addictive disorders, he utilizes an evidence-based collaborative care approach to develop individualized treatment plans, while also offering primary prevention through individual and group addiction prevention education. Obinna views himself as an advocate for social change and is dedicated to partnering with community organizations to decrease public stigma surrounding mental illness and increase the accessibility of mental health services. Outside of his clinical work, he is interested in writing business policies, reading, watching epic movies, discussing politics, and attending professional seminars.
