Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
I love working with individual adults to help them feel better, heal from past trauma and experience a more peaceful, fulfilled version of themselves.
I use an attachment based model called a.e.d.p. to work with my clients doing individual and couples work. I focus on establishing safety and trust, and then working on understanding our parts that make up one’s inner world, organizing and feeling many of the emotions we tend to avoid. I work with couples on identifying their attachment pattern in their couple, the parts that get activated, and work to not just improve communication, but help to heal and be with the parts in couples that get in the way of intimacy and closer connection. I also can incorporate ketamine assisted therapy to treat anxiety, depression and trauma. I look forward to being a part of your journey of healing and growth. Nell Downey is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia with 10 years of experience.
