Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
I recognize that each individual is resilient and embodies strength to achieve their personal goals.
I help with anxiety, depression, adoption, grief, infertility, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, rape and sexual assault, and relationship violence. My trauma-focused approach uses cognitive behavioral, person-centered, and prolonged exposure therapies. I realized I wanted to work with individuals who had experienced trauma when volunteering at a grassroots rape crisis center in Guam. We provided 24-hour crisis services to individuals and the community and worked at the state level to change and improve policies and procedures. I love being outdoors, whether running, mountain biking, hiking, or enjoying San Diego's beauty. Recently, I have been challenging myself to be more like my dog. My dog will walk to the backyard, flop on the ground, roll over on her back, wiggle her body back and forth, exhale a huge sigh, and then rest joyfully. She reminds me to be in the moment and to find pleasure in the simple things, although I’m not quite ready to flop on the ground.
