Integrative psychiatric care for ages 10-60, combining medication management, lifestyle strategies, and personalized support for lasting wellness.

Welcome! I’m Monét Ince-Amara, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of Mendem Integrative Psychiatry. I provide personalized psychiatric care for teens and adults who are navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma-related concerns, sleep difficulties, and other mental health challenges. My approach goes beyond simply prescribing medication. I believe good psychiatric care starts with understanding the whole person—not just a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. During our work together, we explore your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, lifestyle, sleep, nutrition, stress, relationships, and other factors that may be affecting your mental health. When medication is appropriate, I take a thoughtful and conservative approach to prescribing. My goal is to use medication intentionally while also helping you develop strategies that support your mental health outside of the prescription bottle. Treatment may include lifestyle interventions, nutritional considerations, supplements when appropriate, psychoeducation, and practical strategies you can integrate into everyday life. I also believe treatment should be collaborative. I want you to understand your diagnosis, your treatment options, and the reasoning behind my recommendations. Rather than simply telling you what to do, I provide education and guidance so that we can make treatment decisions together. At Mendem Integrative Psychiatry, our philosophy is simple: Educate. Engage. Empower. I want my patients to feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. My practice is especially well-suited for individuals looking for a more comprehensive approach to psychiatric treatment—whether you are starting mental health care for the first time, reconsidering a treatment plan that isn't working well for you, or looking for a provider who will consider both traditional psychiatric treatment and lifestyle-based approaches. Care is provided conveniently through telepsychiatry to patients in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC.
