Psychologist
I'm a relational psychodynamic psychologist who will work with you to unearth patterns underlying your symptoms and keeping you stuck.
Welcome! I view symptoms as messengers of deeper emotional truths that have not yet been acknowledged. Oftentimes, the more we try to avoid or resist them, the stronger they insist on being heard. Through your earliest relationships, you learned which pieces of yourself to hide in order to maintain connection; which emotions were safe to express; and what to expect from others. Over time, these patterns internalized and became the way you relate to yourself and others. You might have learned to suppress your anger, to feel responsible for others’ actions, or that closeness results in disappointment. While these patterns were once invaluable to you, they may now be keeping you stuck. As a relational psychodynamic psychologist, I offer a calming space to slow down and understand how your past might be influencing your present. Together, we will also give voice to silenced parts of yourself that may have been burdened by shame. This kind of deeper work requires courage and trust, and I'm grateful to travel alongside my clients as they unearth these buried truths. I received my PhD from UW-Madison, and have completed specialized training in psychoanalytic therapy and complex trauma.
