Mireya Tamez

Meeting patients where they are in their personal journeys, Mireya Tamez is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas who has been providing therapeutic support since 1992. She holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from St. Mary’s University and focuses on exploring holistic wellness models tailored to the specific needs of each individual. Based in Alamo Heights, Mireya works with a wide range of age groups, including preteens, teens, adults, and seniors. Her clinical practice incorporates various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Couples and Marital Counseling, Family Therapy, and Parenting Skills. She is experienced in assisting individuals navigating complex situations, including those involved in current legal matters, court-ordered treatment, disability paperwork, or parental custody issues, as well as those recently discharged from psychiatric hospitals or dealing with workers' compensation. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Mireya provides culturally accessible care to a diverse patient population. Outside of her clinical work, she finds balance by spending time with her family, enjoying weekend getaways, and catching up with friends over brunch or watching favorite shows on Netflix and Hulu.
