Using a client-centered and trauma-informed approach, Michelle Merindino, LMHC, focuses on creating a safe and warm environment where individuals feel truly seen. Since beginning her practice in New York in 2017, she has guided adults and seniors in processing emotions and achieving the insights needed to break unhealthy patterns. Her clinical work aims to improve both internal well-being and external functioning across daily experiences and interpersonal interactions. Michelle has specific experience supporting individuals recently discharged from psychiatric hospitals, helping them navigate their transition with professional care. Michelle earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Francis College and her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus. Her therapeutic toolkit includes evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure Therapy, and Mindfulness. By fostering a comfortable space for growth, she empowers her clients to enhance their daily lives. Away from her clinical practice, Michelle enjoys staying active through hiking, gym sessions, and travel, while also finding balance in nature through camping and spending time with her pets.
