Merima-Misirca Jurici

Rooted in a holistic treatment philosophy, Merima-Misirca Jurici, MD, emphasizes the significant connection between lifestyle and emotional well-being. She provides comprehensive care for patients aged 4 and older, integrating medication management with psychotherapy. Her clinical approach is heavily informed by psychodynamic principles, which she utilizes to develop a deeper understanding of each patient’s unique needs. Dr. Jurici possesses extensive expertise in treating a diverse range of conditions, including mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, and personality disorders. She also specializes in childhood disorders, pediatric behavioral problems, LGBTQ+ issues, and adjustments to various life stressors. An internationally trained psychiatrist, she completed her basic medical education in Romania, followed by adult psychiatry training at Maimonides Medical Center and a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center. With a career spanning both Europe and the United States, Dr. Jurici has served as an Assistant Professor and clinical instructor, supervising medical students, residents, and nurse practitioners. In addition to her clinical work, she has contributed to research and leadership initiatives. She is fluent in English, Romanian, and Serbian, and possesses a functional understanding of French and Spanish.
