Melissa Badia

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in NJ and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York. I am also pursuing a PhD in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University. I have been working in a private practice setting since 2015 providing both individual and dyadic psychotherapy. My clients have included children, adolescents, adults, and families, with various concerns, including generalized anxiety, depression, grief, relationship conflict, school refusal, social-anxiety, and work/college stress. ? While completing my studies as a doctorate student at Pace University, I have been collecting data specializing in grief, meaning in life, and identity. My passion has really been understanding purposefulness and how this might relate to the development and maintenance of various mental health issues. I am also interested in identity and how it becomes tied to those we love, and how this can be shaken if we are to lose a loved one. ? My belief is that therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, supportive, and empathic. I am here to offer my helping hand in giving individuals the tools they are needing to live a purposeful and fulfilled life.
