I utilize a warm, motivating, and non-judgmental approach along with practical tools to aid the counseling process. My therapeutic lens is informed by over twenty years of meditation and yoga practice. I work holistically. I combine talk-based therapies (CBT, Psychodynamic, etc.) with mindfulness and body-based or somatic approaches. Ultimately, my aim is to increase self-awareness and emotional resilience to foster greater self-acceptance and to develop more satisfying relationships. This last year has shown us that mental health is a social justice issue and is now more important than ever. I am committed to working towards racial and social justice in the “therapy room” and in the community. In 2008, I co-founded Urban Roots, a youth development farming organization in East Austin. I have honed my therapy skills at Austin State Hospital, the UT Counseling and Mental Health Center, and at Capital Area Counseling.
