Matthew Pfeiffer

Matthew Pfeiffer utilizes a holistic care approach to support patients through a bio-psycho-social-spiritual lens, ensuring that every individual's unique emotional and functional needs are addressed. Based in Los Angeles, he is a Counselor who treats adults and seniors, ranging from age 18 to 65 and older. He focuses on understanding the whole person to identify underlying symptoms related to psychopathology, prioritizing the development of empathy, trust, and a strong therapeutic alliance. His clinical specialties include the treatment of sleep disruptions, insomnia, depression, and anxiety, as well as addressing concerns such as alcohol and drug use issues, bipolar disorder, and gender identity. In his practice, Matthew helps patients navigate various life challenges, including chronic illness, medication adherence, coping skills, infidelity, life transitions, and men's issues. He also has significant experience supporting LGB clients with concerns related to sexual identity, orientation, and HIV status. Drawing from several therapeutic modalities, he incorporates Christian counseling, faith-based treatment, mindfulness, person-centered approaches, interpersonal therapy, political psychology, and psychodynamic therapies. Matthew earned his degrees in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in San Francisco and holds a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution from Portland State University. He is currently licensed to practice as an LPCC in California and an LPC in Oregon.
