Mary (McCaleb) Eifert
(She/Her/Hers)
Certified Clinical Social Worker (CSW)
McCaleb believes in being a strengths-based, humanistic therapist and bringing warmth to all human interactions.
McCaleb graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Master of Social Work and has accumulated various experiences in working with those struggling with eating disorders. She has volunteered for the National Eating Disorder Association Hotline, provided eating disorder skills training and psychoeducation to children and adolescents through community agencies, and provided psychotherapy to young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and disordered eating. Due to her vast experiences spread across the recovery continuum, McCaleb brings a well-rounded perspective to working with this disorder. She believes in being a strengths-based, humanistic therapist and bringing warmth to all human interactions. What made you decide to go into this specialty: "Eating disorders have tightly intertwined biological and psychological components that are complex and often buried. It is humbling working with this population as it stretches my ability to understand, empathize, and problem solve in ways that are not textbook defined. In addition, our society often promotes disordered eating behaviors. As such, supporting those in recovery challenges me to work against our society’s diet-culture norms and advocate for those affected by this rhetoric. My goal is to give support and structure during this very transformative and vulnerable time in one’s life."
