therapy and skills coaching for adults

By looking for a therapist you are taking the first, courageous step towards change. Therapy is a gift you can give yourself because it can give you the opportunity to create a more satisfying life. A fundamental piece of making therapy meaningful and effective is working with a therapist who is an appropriate match for you. Psychotherapy is a process and part of that process is working towards building a strong, trusting, collaborative therapeutic relationship. My style is to be warm, direct, interactive, and challenging. I provide therapy to clients with a wide range of backgrounds, beliefs, & issues. I offer both individual & group psychotherapy. I draw upon empirically based treatments, meaning research has found them to be effective, such as Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I tailor my approach to fit the goals, needs, and personality of the patient. It is my goal to help you realize your potential, manage your emotions, and improve your relationships so that you can create a more meaningful & joyful life. I am a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified DBT Clinician www.marthagolden.com www.dbt-u.com www.triangleareadbt.com
