Marisa Garcia

My name is Marisa Garcia, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My focus is to meet you where you are and walk with you in the stage of life you are currently in. I am a major believer in a strength-based setting that feels safe and welcoming to all. I would describe my therapeutic approach as an eclectic style. I pull from varying sources in order to meet all the needs of my patients. I would say I start off focusing on the DBT model and adjust my style as needed for each patient. My main focus is assisting patients in meeting the goals they have set out for themselves. I am comfortable working with individuals struggling with depressive symptoms, anxiety, eating disorders, substance use, and trauma. I use a calm and welcoming tone to create a safe and non-judgmental space. Working with me feels comfortable and supportive. My empathetic personality allows me to listen to patients and work to truly understand how you are experiencing the world around you. I provide my recommendations, but I also pull those recommendations from the input and feedback directly from the patient. I work with the patient to create goals that are important to them.
