Marie Olson
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
I am a mindful therapist who uses creative expression, bilateral stimulation and present-moment awareness in the healing process.
Hi, I'm Marie! I'm a highly sensitive person, visual artist, and ASU Alumni. I believe practices like mindfulness, creative expression and vulnerability in a judgement free zone to be healing. I work with people who are experiencing: confusion, change and loss, difficulties with mood and motivation, fear, guilt, low levels of self-worth, creative blocks, and trauma. I am committed to being with you as you address trauma and reclaim yourself. As a counselor I have lots of curiosity in sessions, bad jokes, and I might nerd out on neuroscience sometimes. It can feel a little scary and awkward at first to meet with a therapist, which is totally normal. We will explore what it is you are needing and wanting from therapy and make a road map (treatment plan) of how to discover that together. My modalities: EMDR, EAT, DBT, ACT, and IFS (google 'em). Therapy is a big commitment, and it is OKAY if you don't know if it's right for you. If you feel like we might be a good fit, I offer free 15 minute consultation calls If I'm not the right person, I can help you find them. Just remember, you are not alone.
