I utilize research science, philosophy and real life experience to help clients gain insight, create strategies for change and move forward in their life

Philosophy of Care At Rebuild Mental Health Counseling, my approach is rooted in a positive model of mental health. Positive mental health can be described as a state in which an individual feels emotionally balanced, resilient, and capable of managing daily stress. They can maintain a positive self-image, engage in healthy relationships, and adapt to changing environments and unexpected adversity. Additionally, they experience a sense of purpose and possess the ability to insightfully process thoughts and emotions. As a counselor, I support clients in examining their lives and environment to find the root causes of their problems. I utilize research-based therapies, philosophy, and real-life experience to guide individuals on their journey to self-discovery. This process fosters awareness, knowledge, and motivation, empowering individuals to heal, change, and move forward in their lives. Individual Therapy Each person is unique and brings their own needs and preferences to counseling. I tailor my approach to fit the needs of each individual client. My theoretical orientation is eclectic; I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Hypnotherapy for working with trauma and PTSD. I utilize Gottman research and methodology for couples and relationship therapy. Additionally, I draw from Interpersonal Neurobiology, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, Relational Cultural Theory, as well as Ego State and Existential Theory for individual work. I believe that successful counseling hinges on building a strong therapeutic alliance between the therapist and client. I approach every client with an open heart and mind, without judgment or the imposition of belief systems that conflict with their values. My goal is to support clients as we journey together toward a healthy, fulfilling and balanced life. Couples Counseling Sharing life with someone special brings a profound sense of purpose and meaning. Whether you are married, in a partnership, or transitioning into a committed relationship, finding love can feel like a beautiful dream. A healthy relationship fulfills our need for companionship and belonging. It provides a sanctuary from the pressures of the outside world, offering a safe place for us to rest and rejuvenate. It serves as an anchor in an otherwise chaotic world. Regardless of how wonderful a relationship may seem at first, every partnership faces challenges that must be addressed to insure long-term happiness and satisfaction. Central to all relationship issues is a breakdown in communication. While everyone engages in some level of communication, not all communication is effective or healthy. As adults, we often model the environments we grew up in, which may include dysfunctional or ineffective communication patterns. Counseling teaches active listening skills to clients, empowering them to effectively express their feelings and needs while deeply understanding their partner's concerns. See website for more Info
