“It is a joy to be hidden, and disaster not to be found.” ― D.W. Winnicott I primarily approach counseling from a psychoanalytic/dynamic and integrative approach. I believe that humans are primarily motivated by the need to form relationships; and that a solid therapeutic relationship serves as a key element for healing, new experiences, and self-growth. I seek to create a safe space in my work for clients to feel seen as who they are, open in exploring their vulnerability, and be empowered in discovering and fostering their strengths. Collaboratively, I work to help clients uncover obstacles that may contribute to any present difficulties and adjust them in ways that make clients feel better about themselves and others. I have worked in community mental health, medical, forensic, and university settings. I served underprivileged children and families, as well as adults with chronic illness and various mental health concerns from diverse backgrounds. My clinical interests include relational issues, grief/bereavement, spiritual and existential issues, adjustment and acculturation concerns, depression, anxiety, identity development, and personality disorders.
