Lauren Mears

Practicing in Virginia since 2020, Licensed Professional Counselor Lauren Mears focuses on helping individuals navigate complex emotional and behavioral challenges. Her clinical experience involves supporting clients with stress, anxiety, anger management, and trauma or abuse, as well as those coping with grief and loss. She is also dedicated to assisting individuals in building motivation, self-esteem, and confidence. Lauren operates from the belief that every person is the expert of their own life story. In her sessions, she works collaboratively with clients to highlight and promote their unique strengths to overcome the obstacles they face. She views the decision to seek a more satisfying life as an act of courage and is committed to empowering patients through every step of that journey. Lauren draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities to tailor care to each individual, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Her background also includes training in Client-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Family Therapy, and Parenting Skills. She serves a wide range of populations, including preteens, teens, young adults, and adults, specifically supporting those aged 11 through 64. Outside of her clinical practice, Lauren enjoys going on road trips with her family to explore new places and experience authentic cultures through food, music, and local activities. She also finds peace in listening to thunderstorms and observing the moon.
