Certified Mental Performance Consultant
I work with athletes to make sure their values align with their habits. My goal is to be a guide to help them become their own mental coach.
In my role as Director of Mental Performance at the USTA's Player Development Department I directly provide mental performance coaching to elite tennis players training at the National Tennis Center. I offer educational courses and resources for players that I cannot work with directly. And, I'm able to refer players to other mental coaches as necessary. In the past I worked with elite ice hockey and baseball players. My approach is educational and focused on holistic development. The aim is to develop healthy, happy, and high performing athletes. This is done by focusing on the process of engaging in habits that align with our competitive values every day. I use a very practical approach. In sessions we discuss often how to transfer mental skills and lessons learned into practices and performances. I use routines with all athletes as a vehicle for applying mental skills into the performance to create an optimal performance state.
