Lakyn Kearns

Lakyn Kearns, PhD, is a provisionally licensed clinical testing psychologist in Tennessee who specializes in the evaluation of children and teenagers. Dr. Kearns earned her Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in School Psychology from the University of Arizona and completed her doctoral internship at Florida State University. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University. Her professional background includes work in university and private psychology clinics, various school districts, and an ABA clinic, where she provided comprehensive psychological evaluations for all ages and conducted individual and group therapy for children and adolescents. Focusing on comprehensive assessments, Dr. Kearns evaluates conditions such as Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, giftedness, anxiety, depression, and other developmental or mood disorders. Her expertise in school-based services allows her to produce detailed reports that assist schools in developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring that each student receives the specific academic and personal support required to succeed. Her diagnostic services are designed to offer families clear and accurate answers, empowering them with the information they need to navigate the next steps in their child's development. Dr. Kearns is committed to fostering a trusting, honest, and supportive environment, guiding families through the evaluation process with empathy and openness. Her primary goal is to ensure every child has the necessary support to thrive. Outside of her clinical practice, she stays active through group fitness classes and has experience as a competitive dancer and high school dance coach. She also enjoys exploring new restaurants and baking at home.
