Krystal Gianina (Dr. Gia) Acevedo

I’m originally from South Florida and proudly embrace my Colombian & Puerto Rican heritage. My journey in mental health began over a decade ago, working with community organizations and advocating for human equality. These experiences deepened my desire to better understand the human condition and support others in their healing. I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a focus on the mind-body connection, particularly the brain-gut relationship. My training spans a wide range of settings, including Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Health System. There, I worked across inpatient medical units (Ryder Trauma Center, Christine Lynn Rehab), psychiatric units (Jackson Behavioral Health), crisis stabilization programs, community mental health centers, and outpatient clinics.
