Kristen Bumgarner

Serving a wide demographic in Concord, North Carolina, Kristen Bumgarner is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate who works with patients starting at age four, including children, preteens, teens, young adults, adults, and seniors. A North Carolina native, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2015 and went on to receive her Master of Arts from Wake Forest University. Her clinical background includes providing care in diverse environments such as schools, outpatient clinics, and home-based settings. Kristen’s therapeutic philosophy is rooted in the belief that the counseling experience should be as unique as the individual. She utilizes a wide range of theories to meet her clients' specific needs, drawing on modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). With a focus on improving quality of life and reaching personal goals, she emphasizes open communication and mindfulness in her work with individuals, couples, and families. Additionally, Kristen has specific experience supporting children, teens, and young adults on the autism spectrum through the use of ABA therapy. Outside of her clinical practice, she enjoys traveling, reading, exploring historic landmarks, supporting local artists and musicians, and spending time with her family and children.
