Kelly Toltzien
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Other
I am an Licensed Professional Counselor and Art Therapist specializing in Integrative Therapy including somatic/body based therapies and expressive arts.
My approach is strengths-based, client centered and somatic; grounded in the belief that the mind and body are intimately connected, and that by engaging in creative self-expression, we can tap into and reconnect with the wisdom of our bodies and access new insights and healing. I draw on a variety of creative, expressive, and somatic modalities, including: art, Somatic Experiencing, movement, writing (narrative work, storytelling, poetry, journaling), music, self-attunement, enactment, play, and mindfulness to help clients explore their emotions and gain a deeper connection and understanding of themselves. In the 15+ years of my practice, my work has come to focus on women, teens, adults, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Exploring issues related to trauma, identity and self-exploration, life stress and adjustments, sexuality, and gender, and more. I have developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges that individuals in these communities face, and I am committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for them to explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences.
