I am a strengths-based and collaborative therapist specializing in anxiety, challenging relationship dynamics, trauma and substance use concerns.

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of clinical experience in a variety of treatment settings. I provide psychotherapy to adults of all ages, but particularly enjoy working with young adults, because the transitions that often occur for people at this time can translate to powerful new self-awareness, motivation, and opportunities for transformation. I specialize in treating anxiety, trauma and substance use concerns, as well as issues related to relationships and environments that can contribute to the development of these concerns. My ideal clients are typically people whose anxiety or worry is rooted in well-practiced coping strategies to get through difficult early life experiences and/or family systems dynamics. My clients are often high-achievers (many times perfectionists) who are highly skilled at taking care of everyone and everything but themselves. They are the caretakers, the good listeners, the peacekeepers, and the crisis managers in their relationships. They often appear to "have it all together," while struggling in private and facing a harsh inner critic day in and day out. In terms of approach and style, I value being warm, compassionate, authentic, and direct. I show up to session as a human first and foremost, and understand that no amount of training or technique supersedes a safe, trusting and supportive relationship where you feel seen, understood and heard. To that end, I like to "think out loud" with my clients and problem-solve together. Clients tell me that I am good at helping them organize their thoughts and emotions (differentiating those from what others in their lives think or feel), making connections to support insight and self-awareness, and helping them to shift their perspectives or beliefs in a manner that aligns with their values. I utilize evidence-based treatment strategies - primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). If you are considering therapy and think we might be a good fit to work together, please reach out! I offer a free consultation call to any prospective client so we can learn more about each other, discuss your goals and generate a possible plan for tackling those if we work together.
