Katie brings a warm, friendly, and understanding style in her work. Katie provides encouragement and support to individuals and couples who are coping with a wide variety of life’s changes and challenges. Katie sees her role as a therapist to guide clients through the process of greater self-understanding and help begin to take action toward healing the past, living in the present, and looking toward the future. Katie enjoys working with a variety of clients and has experience helping individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression and trauma. She has special interest and expertise in working with college-aged individuals and working professionals who are open to self-exploration and motivated to change old patterns to achieve a new result. In addition, Katie has training in sexual and intimacy issues and offers individuals and couples guidance as they work toward greater sexual health. Her approach is especially suited to individuals who are seeking therapy for the first time and would like to ease into therapy to gain a deeper understanding of themselves. Katie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Psychotherapy from Adler Graduate School. She is also trained and specializes in providing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, a specialized therapeutic approach designed to bring quick and lasting relief for many types of emotional distress. Katie is also a trauma informed therapist and uses a trauma lens with clients when applicable. As a co-owner of Invigorate Life Counseling and Board Approved LMFT supervisor, Katie believes that having a varied and collaborative community of therapists provides greater opportunities to strengthen and revitalize both individuals, couples and families.
