Kathleen “Katie” McCann is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with over 20 years of experience in social work and mental health treatment. Her experience includes work in community and outpatient organizations, as well as hospital and state correctional institutions. Her approach to counseling is based on the mind/body connection and is trauma-informed. She focuses on creating a warm and safe atmosphere of trust and safety in the counseling experience that is conducive to building a positive therapeutic relationship. Katie views each person as unique and helps them work through life issues with the tools that they have. When clients find that they feel stuck or are struggling with unhealthy patterns, it may be time to learn new skills and tools to help them cope and progress in ways that are more effective. She enjoys working collaboratively to assists clients in learning effective strategies to reach their life goals and develop new perspectives.
