Dr. Katherine Giraldo Escobar (she/her/ella) is a Latina/Latinx clinician with experiences in college counseling centers, community mental health, private practice, and in-patient settings. She received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from William James College and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Clemson University. She completed her APA internship at New Mexico State University where she provided trauma-informed care to students at a predominantly Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). Dr. Giraldo Escobar specializes in working with young adults (20s and 30s) and has worked with people of all ages. She takes an integrative approach to therapy, adapting her therapeutic style to fit each person’s identities, preferences, and needs. She pulls from various theoretical orientations including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT).
