Katara Wilson

Katara Wilson, LPC, provides compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to a diverse range of clients across Georgia, including children, preteens, teens, adults, and seniors. Specializing in individual, family, and group therapy, she creates an affirming and safe environment where individuals can draw upon their personal strengths to build practical coping mechanisms for life's various challenges. Katara is particularly passionate about her work with younger populations, utilizing art and play therapy to help children and adolescents express themselves in a way that is developmentally appropriate. Her extensive background includes supporting youth through school avoidance, childhood behavior issues, ADHD, and the complexities of the adoption and foster care systems. In addition to her focus on youth and families, Katara supports individuals navigating depression, anxiety, and trauma-related conditions such as PTSD. Her clinical approach integrates specialized interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), to help clients improve emotional regulation, enhance self-awareness, and develop more resilient relationships. She also offers psychological testing and emphasizes holistic treatment by collaborating with schools, families, and other healthcare providers. Katara has significant experience working with military families, LGBTQ+ individuals, and clients with developmental disabilities. Outside of her clinical practice, she finds balance by spending time with loved ones, refurbishing furniture, and crafting clothing and hair bows.
