Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
As a PMHNP-BC with a passion for helping individuals heal from trauma, I offer compassionate, holistic care that addresses mind and body.
I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I earned my BSN (2010) and MSN (2019) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have worked in the psychiatric-mental health field for over 13 years, providing quality care in a broad range of challenging inpatient and outpatient settings; including mental health units within a maximum-security prison (Central Prison in Raleigh), private practice, state psychiatric hospitals, and community mental health clinics. I am experienced, passionate about the practice of psychiatric care, and deeply committed to all my patients. While working at Central Prison, I was inspired to learn more about trauma, including complex trauma and developmental trauma. I sought out educational opportunities via the Trauma Research Foundation, and I have attended the Annual Boston International Trauma Conference every year since 2021. Through pursuing educational opportunities on trauma, I have learned that understanding a patient’s history of trauma is essential in providing them with holistic psychiatric-mental health care that best meets their treatment needs and helps them live their fullest lives.
