Psychologist
Virginia licensed clinical psychologist specializing in CBT with children, adolescents, and young adults.
Are you worried all the time, preoccupied with a million different things? Or are you stressed and unhappy: worried about the demands of school, of sports, of friends, of everything? Are you sometimes overly self-critical: believing that you are not good enough, not smart enough, not interesting enough, not fun enough, not cute enough. Do you find it hard to let go of past mistakes, or are always worried about tomorrow and what will happen to you in the future. Or are you stuck in bad habits: repeating behaviors over and over again, because it makes you feel better for a moment and gets rid of horrible feelings of anxiety. Using cognitive behavior therapy, I will help you take back control of your feelings. I will help you learn skills and strategies to manage anxiety, reduce worries, and improve mood. Adopting a problem solving approach that focuses on difficulties you are having right now, I help you understand your unhelpful thinking patterns, and problematic behaviors that keep you trapped in negative cycles, and prevent you from enjoying life. My goal is to help you feel capable and confident, let go of worries and stress and begin to look forward to their future.
