Johnathan (John) Elliott
Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
I welcome students of all backgrounds and experiences to reach out. I have worked extensively in higher ed for many years.
The difficulties of life grip us in ways both obvious and unseen. Life has a way of happening at inconvenient times and counseling can assist in navigating the emotional difficulties and consequences with someone who is non-judgmental and supportive. I strive to view the world through your lens while helping you recognize your strengths and build resiliency through proven techniques so that you can lead a successful and comfortable life. I hope to have the opportunity to support you through this difficult time. I have spent the last 14 years working with young adults, college students, and veterans/first responders facing major trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety. I work to help clients build healthier lives, realize their goals, and recognize their strengths. I utilize several theoretical orientations to meet my client's needs in the therapeutic relationship. I am sure that the circumstances leading to your search for a potential therapist have been difficult. I invite you to seek support through my counseling practice and find comfort in a non-judgmental and confidential environment. Through my person-centered approach clients have found relief and success meeting their goals and realizing their potential.
