John (Jack) O'Connell
Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW)
Welcome to my practice. Drawing on my training and experience, I offer psychotherapy flexibly tailored to your unique personality and concerns.
Are you feeling anxious, depressed or deeply unhappy with yourself or aspects of your life? Do you want to change but find yourself stuck in painful, unproductive patterns? Therapy can help. Drawing on my training and experience, I can offer you an approach to therapy that is flexibly tailored to your unique personality and concerns. We can work together to help you achieve significant and lasting changes in your life. I work with adolescents and adults from a private practice in downtown Ann Arbor. I provide in-person and remote work possibilities. My areas of specialization include depression, anxiety, work or career problems, relationship difficulties, self-esteem and self-image concerns, intimacy difficulties, loss or bereavement and college adjustment, among others. I studied Philosophy and Economics at Columbia University, and worked in investment banking for 5 years, before changing career paths to become a therapist, and attending University of Michigan School of Social Work. I take a creative approach to psychotherapy drawing on training, life experience, and my love of the arts and humanities.
