Joanne Royer

Rooted in the belief that everyone is on a unique mental wellness journey, Joanne Royer, MS, LMFT, provides a supportive and action-oriented space for her clients to be truly seen and heard. Based in Pasadena, California, she works with young adults, adults, and seniors, specializing in the treatment of anxiety, later life transitions, midlife transitions, and women's issues. Her patient-centered approach involves creating an environment where individuals can talk through their thoughts with an objective professional, setting intentions that include accountability to help move their progress forward. Dr. Royer has been licensed in California as a Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist since 1991 and also holds licenses in Oregon and Washington. She earned her MA degree in Psychology from a Liberal Arts University and was awarded a Doctorate Degree in Child Clinical Psychology in 2000, which included post-graduate training in psychological and psychoeducational testing. Throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience, spending a decade working in residential treatment and inpatient facilities for children and adolescents followed by ten years providing clinical leadership to non-profit mental health teams. For the past seven years, she has expanded her expertise into coaching, earning certification from the International Coaching Federation as a Professional Certified Coach. In her clinical practice, she utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support the needs of her English-speaking clients.
