Jillian Wood

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience in both mental health and substance use disorder treatment settings for adolescents and adults. I began my career as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), working with adults in the Will County Specialty Court system, specifically in drug, mental health, and veterans' courts. Through my work with adults in inpatient, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings, as well as with those enrolled in Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for alcohol and opiate use disorders, I gained extensive knowledge of substance use disorders. In these roles, I observed many individuals facing underlying issues stemming from childhood trauma, workplace stress, relationship challenges, grief and loss, low self-esteem, and difficult family dynamics, among others. In recent years, I have continued working with adolescents and adults presenting similar concerns. I am dedicated to helping individuals address the barriers preventing them from becoming the best version of themselves. My therapeutic approach is collaborative and tailored to each client's needs and goals. I start by creating a safe and supportive space that is free of judgment and filled with compassion and empathy. I employ specific evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, strengths-based therapy, and person-centered therapy. I hold a deep respect for the therapeutic relationship and am here to help you listen, empower, and build self-worth, self-confidence, and self-acceptance. My goal is to improve your quality of life, support you through change, and facilitate healing from your past as you move forward.
