Jennifer Summers

Hello, I’m Jennifer the lead therapist here at HopeSprings. I have been practicing in the mental health field for 8+ years with a prior 15+ years’ medical experience with neurodiverse populations and trauma of all forms. I am a proud alumnus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and part of this community since early 2003. Personally, experiencing my own complex trauma as a child and medical trauma as an adult, mental health has become my passion. I work to investigate and understand how the inner sense of self works for each person. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and specialize in using a trauma informed lese to help guide others build a better quality of life. I have worked with a variety of individuals ranging from age 5-90 years. My personality affects my approach through non-judgement, compassion, and empathy. I utilize active listening and sometimes activities. If you are affected by any adjustments, trauma/PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, depression/mood disorders, abuse, parent child relational issues, emotion regulation or going through a difficult life situation, I am here to help support and guide you to a better understanding of self and empowerment. Jennifer offers online therapy across Illinois and specializes in therapy for children, teens, and young adults. She is in-network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Health Alliance, Humana, Magellan, Medicaid, Meridian, Molina, Optum, and United HealthCare Student Resources, and provides flexible payment options, including a sliding scale.
