47 years in practice

I love animals, the mountains, & the ocean. Beginning with a new client is an exciting, humbling journey. It's as if I'm reading a new book. Join with me.

If you are reading this information, welcome! I have worked in a variety of practice settings for over 47 years from public welfare agencies, outpatient mental health centers, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, substance abuse treatment centers, and private practice. I've enjoyed all of my employment experiences often seeking new knowledge in order to obtain additional professional knowledge and personal growth. I offer all of my experience, strength, and hope to my clients. I do not ask anything of clients that I haven't done myself. I understand that meeting and beginning with a new therapist can be a frightening as well as an exciting journey. It takes time to develop the therapeutic relationship necessary to share the type of personal information necessary to delve into your past, present, hopes, fears, and dreams. I offer to people a safe place to explore yourself, an arena of trust, and security. I find it is an honor to work with people assisting each one in developing goals to achieve your truest potential. Overall, the therapy path is a process of beginning, middle, and end which requires courage, responsibility, and strength, eventually resulting in joy and freedom. Happiness is not a goal; it is a byproduct of good living! The overall therapeutic goals are developed and achieved by you through a series of interventions utilizing trauma informed therapy, cognitive based interventions, family systems therapy, Jungian theories, and psychodynamic therapy. I provide therapy to adults and couples. All of the therapeutic interventions are offered in a respectful manner provided to you by choice in session with the possibility of homework between sessions.
