Pre-Licensed Professional
For those navigating academic burnout, grad school, men and men's issues, relationship dynamics, and issues related to sex and sexual harm.
I specialize in working with individuals, typically aged 18-65, and couples on topics that do not always get the focused attention they deserve. Here are the primary topics and examples of what I work with clients on: University-related stressors: stress management, burnout, the stress of grad school, hyper-perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and navigating academic-family dynamics; Men and men’s issues: depression, grief and loss, interpersonal relationships, isolation, and adverse childhood experiences; Relationship dynamics: communication breakdown, cycles of criticism and/or feeling unappreciated, emotional and physical intimacy, and life transitions such as parenthood or death of a loved one; Sex and sexual health: intimacy, pleasure, sexual dysfunction, direct and indirect experiences of harm/trauma, and self-image. Having worked with and taught both graduate and undergraduate students at UVA in multiple schools, I understand the myriad challenges, crises, and stressors you can face while navigating life as a student. I’m here to work with you, bringing my clinical knowledge in therapy and years of experience working with students in and out of the classroom. In doing so, we'll focus on clear communications and mutual respect to ensure we're working toward your goals.
