Serving individuals throughout Virginia across the lifespan, Hillary L. A. Gary, MD, provides trauma-informed psychiatric care that balances evidence-based practice with a deeply empathetic approach. Dr. Gary is board-certified in General Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, bringing extensive experience to the treatment of a diverse range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Her clinical philosophy centers on shared decision-making, ensuring that every patient is an active participant in their path toward healing through personalized medication management and integrated therapeutic interventions. Dr. Gary’s professional background includes completing her psychiatry residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans and a specialized fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She is particularly dedicated to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and fostering a safe, inclusive environment for all patients.
